Falcon Bulb Planting Robot
The name of the Falcon planting robot is inspired by the bird with the same name: fast and extremely precise in its results. The Falcon plants fully automatically and is suitable for planting bulbs in both water and potting soil. The bulbs are supplied from a tilter system and then evenly distributed across the machine through a special developed feeder. In the machine, the bulbs are oriented and placed on a small cup. This cup moves the bulb 360 degrees alongside an advanced vision system. Thanks to the combination of vision and AI, the position of the bulb is determined, ensuring that all bulbs can be positioned with the bulb point facing upwards. The bulbs are then picked up by the Falcon’s claw and placed upright into the tray. A camera is used to verify whether the planting position is clear for planting or whether it should be skipped to prevent the bulbs from being crushed.
With the intuitive control system of the Falcon, it is easy to adjust the row length, spacing, and the number of rows. It is also possible to disable individual rows for manual planting, offering flexibility in deploying staff dynamically.
The Falcon has a planting capacity of up to 5,000 bulbs per hour. Thanks to its modular design, the number of Falcon robots can easily be expanded to grow with your company. The largest setup, with 20 Falcons in a row, has a maximum capacity of 100,000 planted bulbs per hour. The smallest setup, with one Falcon, is used by a tulip grower processing 2.5 million tulips. In both cases, the Falcon offers ease, flexibility, and continuity.
After the bulbs are carefully planted, the trays are moved to the desired location via a specialized logistics system, where final checks can be carried out.
