MonoStar: processing of gerbera
The Monostar is the successor to the RoyalStar. The MonoStar is a gerbera bunching machine that was specially developed for automated sorting and bunching of ‘mini’ flower and large flower gerbera. This machine is controlled on the basis of a customer's order, which means that the user can easily change the settings to assemble the required orders. The MonoStar was also developed as a modular machine, allowing a good configuration for any situation. The machine is made with a standard infeed station.
Benefits:
- Sorting on the basis of stem length
- Sorting on the basis of flower surface
- Adjustable number of stems per bunch
- Basic speed amounts to 10,800 hooks per hour
- High speed MonoStar processes 3.5 hooks per hour = 12,600 pieces
Specifications:
- The machine works from right to left or vice versa
- Equipped with 2 or more binder positions
- Exits: 1-3
- A run of a number of bunches can be programmed
- Performance indication
Parts of the MonoStar
Infeed station
In this station, the gerberas are fed in manually between a first set of strings. Then, the gerberas end up in a second string path, where the separation takes place with a number of cylinders.
Gripper chain
After separation, the gerberas are picked up by a chain provided with grippers, by means of which the gerberas are transported to the next functions. With the gripper chain, the stems of the gerberas are then “raked”, so that the gerberas can be sawn to length and inspected.
Inspection module for flower diameter and length
By means of a Havatec - line camera, the diameter of the flowers is measured indicatively. This inspection is intended to be able to remove “shorts”. Then, the gerberas that are too short are dropped. These gerberas are dropped on a conveyor that transports the flowers out of the machine.
Panel belt
Provided with a vertical conveyor against which the bunches are formed at the flower side. Also equipped with 2 binder positions. The entire panel belt is at the correct height for adding and picking up. The drop height of the flowers is minimised.
Control cabinets
Including the required control unit and including the filling up alarm on the buffer belt. It makes sure the infeed strings are stopped.
Control screen
The machine has a control screen with adjustment button for the required settings.
